REVIEW: Gilded Lily (Gilded Flower #1) by Vivian Winslow

Synopsis

After catching her fiancé Jack in bed with her sister the day before her wedding, New York socialite Lily Baron escapes to Rio, her honeymoon destination—alone. There, Marcelo, the dark and sexy hotel masseur, releases a heated passion Lily had never experienced with Jack. When Lily meets handsome and powerful Brazillionaire Gustavo de Lima, she can hardly resist him. There’s just one problem. He’s married. In this uber-sensual city, will Lily’s reluctance to be with a married man, in light of her own fiancé’s betrayal, give way to her burning desire for Gustavo?

My Thoughts

I was approached by the author asking if I would be interested in reading and reviewing her Gilded Flower series. I replied stating that I was currently swamped with books I wanted to read and as it is winter here in Australia, two of my children had the flu and I didn't know when I would get to read them. Vivian replied understanding about sick children and saying that there wasn't a deadline for the reviews to be done.

I also hadn't done my research on the series as I usually would (my bad!). I didn't realise that they were novellas and not full length novels. I like reading novellas, but I don't always like reviewing them as I feel it's too easy to spoil the story for others as they are so short.

When I received my ARCs, I had just finished a book and decided to jump straight in. I am so glad that I did! The last few books that I had read, I had taken my time with. I enjoyed them, but I was reading small amounts at a time. They didn't make me feel like I wanted to sit there and devour them. That was not the case with this gem!

Gilded Lily grabbed my attention from the beginning and didn't let it go. A few chapters in I jumped on Amazon and bought all three installments of the series! Vivian Winslow's writing is descriptive and addictive. The sex scenes were detailed and definitely panty melting HOT! Both Marcelo and Gustavo had a sexual energy that was tangible.

I'm about to jump in to the second book - Calla Lily. I can't wait to find out what's next for Lily Baron.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
